REBEKAH Wade, editor of The Sun newspaper, has been questioned by police about an alleged assault on her actor husband Ross Kemp who used to play rugby for Maidstone.

Ms Wade was arrested in the early hours of today and released without charge after spending the morning in custody.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “A woman was arrested after we were called to an alleged assault at an address in south London at 4am on Thursday.

“That woman was arrested on suspicion of an alleged assault on a man and was taken into custody. She subsequently left the police station without charge.”

No further action will be taken by police.
