A woman accused of murder has been remanded in custody after a 25-year-old man was stabbed.
Police were called to Southfields Way, Harrietsham, near Maidstone, at around 1.30am on Tuesday.
A man, later named by police as Jack Cadwallader, had been stabbed and later died in hospital.
Paige Poulton, of Southey Road, Haringey, London, was arrested and later charged with murder.
The 19-year-old was remanded in custody after appearing before Margate Magistrates’ Court yesterday (July 4).
She appeared in person in the dock at Maidstone Crown Court this morning (Friday) wearing a grey sweater and only spoke to confirm her name.
During the hearing, Judge Philip St John-Stevens heard Poulton’s defence team were not making an application for bail and as a result, he remanded her in custody.
He told her she may apply for bail when a preliminary hearing is held on July 31.
A trial date was set for December 2 and is expected to last three weeks and held at the same court.
After the incident police also arrested another man who was later released without charge.
Following Jack’s sudden death, his friends posted tributes on social media.
One post online says: “I can’t believe I am writing this RIP – I had the best times ever with you.
“You were my bestie, love you mate – so so sad.”
In another message, one friend wrote: “This was unexpected – sending love to all the family and deepest condolences.”
Others filled his Facebook wall with messages saying “rest in peace”, while another said “I will miss you.”
The murder investigation is being led by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate.
