A teenager suspected of carrying a knife in a town centre has been arrested.
Maidstone town centre officers were on foot patrol yesterday morning when they arrested a 15-year-old boy.
He was arrested on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon at 11.40am and released pending further investigation.
Inspector Giacomino Vail on Maidstone’s Community Safety Unit said: "My message is simple. These diligent officers will search anybody acting suspiciously in the town in order to protect our communities and businesses.
"This crackdown will continue and anybody who chooses to carry knives or other weapons will be arrested and brought to justice."
