A YOUNG woman motorist was killed when her Vauxhall Nova car was involved in a crash in Redwall Lane, Linton, near Maidstone, last night.

Fire crews cut the 19-year-old from the wreckage of the car but she was pronounced dead at the scene. No other vehicle was involved.

Police are carrying out an investigation into what happened. A police spokeswoman said: “We are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.

"We really need any information from anyone who saw that car in the area. Anyone who can help should contact PC Tony Howland on 01622 608061.”
