A teenage girl was attacked as she walked along a tow path alone in the early hours of the morning.

Police believe the 18-year-old was sexually assaulted by the River Medway in the Lockmeadow area of Maidstone.

Officers cordoned off the area after the attack early on Sunday morning and are appealing for people who witnessed anything suspicious between the bridge and Lockmeadow car park from midnight to 2am to come forward.
