A teenage skateboarder was taken to hospital after being hit by a car in Maidstone.

The accident happened in Loose Road just after 6.30pm yesterday, and police and paramedics rushed to the scene.

The 18-year-old was taken to hospital with a head injury and required stitches. His condition is not thought to be serious.

The road was closed until 8pm.
