POLICE have revealed the identity of a young man whose body was recovered from the River Medway in Maidstone. He was Jason Swaffer, 17, who went missing from the Trinity Foyer in Church Street, Maidstone, on October 6.

Police received calls that same day that a man had fallen off of Maidstone's Millennium Bridge into the River Medway. Mr Swaffer's body was discovered between the Millennium Bridge and Maidstone's bridge gyratory system. It was about 12ft away from the riverbank opposite the law courts.

He was officially identified by his relatives who live in the Maidstone area. The corner has been informed and an inquest will be held.
