Teens try to grab boy's phone in Mote Park

A 15-year-old boy narrowly escaped being robbery by two older teenagers as he walked through Mote Park.

The pair approached him as he was riding home on his BMX at about 6.10pm on Friday, October 8, and threatened him, demanding that he hand over his mobile phone.

But a passing car interrupted the robbery attempt, and the boy was able to get away.

Police are now appealing for help to track down the two older teens.

The first was white with very tanned skin, and was aged 19. He was skinny with brown hair, and wearing a hooped blue and cream jumper and dark tracksuit bottoms. He was wearing Nike Air Max trainers and riding a silver mountain bike with a white bottle holder on the frame.

The other was white, aged between 17 and 18, with short brown hair. He was smaller than the other teen, and wearing a black waterproof hip-length jacket and black tracksuit bottoms.
