The Mote’s slim chances of catching Lordswood at the top of Shepherd Neame Kent League Division 1 were hit by rain.
Glen Aukett’s (pictured) side went into their top-of-the-table clash 55 points adrift of the leaders knowing that they needed a maximum points victory to give themselves any real chance of catching the Medway side.
But the only winner was the weather, with rain preventing any further play after The Mote reached 31-1 in reply to Lordswood’s 200-6 from 50 overs.
That total was built around a
129-run second-wicket stand between Chris Thompson (94) and Alan Pattenden (64), while Tom Harvey took 3-46 for The Mote.
