Dame Trot had a hair-raising experience when she popped in for a spot of pampering at a Maidstone beauty salon.
In between performances of Jack and the Beanstalk at the Hazlitt Arts Centre, Dame Trot, alias Michael Fenton-Stevens of TV’s My Family, headed for The Courtyard Health and Beauty Spa in Bank Street to make sure his legs were in tip-top condition to appear on stage.
Salon manager Nathalie Harris ensured it was a quick and (relatively) painless experience.
Mr Fenton-Stevens, who will spend the next four weeks playing Jack’s mother in the pantomime, said: “Panto is great fun, but it’s a pretty intense few weeks’ work over the festive period. It was wonderful to be pampered ....but I’m not so sure about the leg wax.”
During the evening, Jack, alias Jake Hendricks, from Hollyoaks, Jill, alias Caroline Ruskell and Simple Simon (real name Tom Swift from Tunbridge Wells) also tried a luxury chocolate facial.
