Eighteen motorists have been banned from Britain's roads for a total of nearly 42 years by Kent magistrates this month.
The drivers were also fined a total £3,869 which did not include fees for costs, compensation or victim surcharges.
The details have been release by Kent Police as part of their Justice Seen To Be Done campaign. Two drivers also received suspended prison sentences of 12 weeks each. Virtually all were charged with drinking and driving or being under the influence of drugs.
Tunbridge Wells drink-driver disqualified
Daniel Bailey, 46, of Hastings Road, Tunbridge Wells was banned for 40 months and fined £300 by Sevenoaks magistrates on May 13 after he admitted driving above the legal alcohol limit in Hastings Road, Pembury, on April 25. He had 49 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85.
Westerham man receives prison sentence
Andrew Tree, 44, of Blackthorne Road, Westerham, was jailed for 12 weeks, suspended for 18 months, and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 200 hours when he appeared at Maidstone magistrates court on May 10.
He pleaded guilty to threatening and abusive behaviour in London Road, Westerham, and failing to provide specimen for analysis in Tonbridge Police Station on December 4 last year.
He also denied two counts of assaulting an emergency officer in Blackthorne Road, Westerham, on the same day. He was disqualified from driving for three years from 17 January 2020 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £122 and costs of £650.
West Malling man sentenced for multiple offences
Ryan Rees, 18, of Addison Close, West Malling, was sentenced to 84 days in jail, suspended for two years and ordered to pay a surcharge of £128 and costs of £85 by Maidstone magistrates on May 19.
He was also banned from driving for four years and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 250 hours after admitting dangerous driving, driving without a licence or insurance in Kings Hill, West Malling and possessing a controlled drug, cannabis, on October 30 last year.
When tested he gave a reading of 3.9 microgrammes of cannabis per litre of blood. The legal limit is two.
Maidstone man banned for drink-driving
Benjamin Rodell-Jones, 42, of St Luke's Road, Maidstone, was banned from driving for 40 months and fined £784 by Maidstone magistrates on May 19.He pleaded guilty to driving above the legal alcohol limit in Maidstone on April 30.
When tested he gave a reading of 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £78 and costs of £85.
Maidstone man, 74, disqualified for drink-driving
William Ward, 74, of The Priory, Maidstone, was banned from driving for 23 months, fined £450 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £45 and costs of £85 by Maidstone magistrates on May 5 after admitting driving above the legal alcohol limit in Farleigh Lane, Maidstone, on April 21.When tested he gave a reading of 105 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The legal limit is 35.
Folkestone driver banned
Jacob Arnold, 26, of Sandgate Road, Folkestone, was ordered to carry out unpaid work for 100 hours and disqualified from driving for 36 months by Folkestone magistrates on May 13 after pleading guilty to failing to provide specimen for analysis in Folkestone on March 21.
Ashford drink-driver disqualified
Joshua Richardson, 27, of Lancaster Way, Ashford, was banned for 18 months, fined £369 and ordered to pay a surcharge of £34 and costs of £85 by Folkestone magistrates on May 5 after pleading guilty to driving above the alcohol limit in Ashford on February 5. His test gave 269mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine. The legal limit is 107.
Driver disqualified for drink-driving in Chilham
Marin Nikolov, 45, of Corporation Street, London, was disqualified from driving for 20 months, fined £500 and ordered to pay a £50 surcharge and £85 costs by Margate magistrates on May 11 after admitting driving on the A252 Canterbury Road at Chilham on April 11 with 79 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.
Whitstable drink-driver disqualified
Luke Romer, 43, of Westmeads Road, Whitstable, was banned for 24 months and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 80 hours by Margate magistrates on May 11. They also ordered him to pay a £95 surcharge and costs of £85 after he admitted driving with 110 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath in Westmeads Road on April 24. The limit is 35.
Folkestone man disqualified for drug-driving
Nigel Harman, 37, of Wear Bay Road, Folkestone, was banned for 36 months and ordered to pay a surcharge of £90 and costs of £85 by Folkestone magistrates on May 5 after pleading guilty to driving while unfit through drugs on October 12. He had 61 microgrammes of cocaine per litre of blood. The limit is 10.
Margate drink-driver disqualified
Krzstof Sabatowski, 37, of Milton Avenue, Margate, was banned for 28 months and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 100 hours and pay compensation of £250, a £95 surcharge and £85 costs by Margate magistrates on May 7 after admitting driving above the legal alcohol limit in Dane Road, Margate, on October 19.
When stopped he gave a urine test reading of 354mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine. The limit is 107.
Dover man disqualified for drink-driving
Ross Purchase, 41, of Sea View Road, Dover, was banned for 18 months and ordered to carry out unpaid work for 150 hours and pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs by Folkestone magistrates on May 5. He pleaded guilty to driving above the legal alcohol limit and without care and attention in Park Avenue, Deal on September 6 last year. He had 90 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood. The limit is 80.
Ashford drink-driver disqualified
William Collins, 23, of Pluckley Road, Ashford, was banned for 20 months and ordered to pay a surcharge of £90 and costs of £350 by Folkestone magistrates on May 19 after admitting driving in Ashford on February 15 with 85 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.
Dover man disqualified for drug-driving
Robbie Martin, 41, of Folkestone Road, Dover, was disqualified from driving for 18 months and fined £400. He was also ordered to pay a surcharge of £40 and costs of £85 at Maidstone magistrates court on May 5 after being stopped in Dover on October 26 last year with 800 microgrammes of cocaine in a litre of blood. The limit is 10.
Banned for failing to provide a sample
Floyd Francis, 33, of Corporation Road, Newport, was banned for 36 months and ordered to pay a surcharge of £95 and costs of £85 by Margate magistrates on May 18 after pleading guilty to failing to provide specimen for analysis when stopped in Canterbury, on April 19.
Rochester driver disqualified
Biser Borisov, 42, of Delce Road, Rochester, was banned for 18 months, fined £666 and ordered to pay a £67 surcharge and £85 costs by Maidstone magistrates on May 11 after he pleaded guilty to driving with 156 milligrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood, the limit is 80, when stopped in New Road, Chatham on November 1 last year. He also admitted not having a driving licence or insurance.
Gravesend drink-driver disqualified
Ramunas Gasinskas, 31, of Pier Road, Gravesend, was banned for 23 months, ordered to carry out unpaid work for 100 hours and told to pay a £95 surcharge and £85 costs by Folkestone magistrates on May 19 after he admitted driving along the M2 at Faversham on April 13 with 95 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.
Rochester man disqualified for drink-driving
Justin Scarlett, 52, of Star Hill, Rochester, was banned for 20 months and fined £400 by Margate magistrates on May 4. He was also ordered to pay a £40 surcharge and costs of £400 after having 274mg of alcohol in 100ml of urine, the limit is 107, when stopped in George Hill Lane, Broadstairs, on April 18.
Unpaid work order for fraud
Guymat Mindia, 25, of Union Road, Nottingham, was ordered to carry out unpaid work for 150 hours by Sevenoaks magistrates on May 11 after using an article for fraud in Greenhithe on February 6. He denied the charge. Magistrates ordered the destruction of two bank cards and ordered him to pay £640 costs and a £90 surcharge.
