Firefighters made a paw-esome rescue when they freed a cat stuck in a pub wall in Westerham... for up to four days.
Anxious calls were overheard by concerned passers-by at the George and Dragon pub in Market Square.
The RSPCA were quick to the scene on Tuesday.
To avoid catastrophe, officers had to make a small hole in the first-floor wall before reaching in to the cavity to get the trapped black and white tom cat .
Shortly afterwards, the cat - affectionately named George by his rescuers - was lifted to safety after spending up to four days trapped.
Andrew Kirby, an inspector for the charity, said: "We think he fell and could just not make his way out afterwards. This old building is a catacomb of passageways and so not hard for the animal to get lost and trapped in.
"At least the fact that he was stuck in this corner meant we could get to him and lift him out. Otherwise he could have continually been running around, especially considering how nervous he was, and we would have had a real struggle to try and rescue him.
"Poor George was unhurt but incredibly distressed and is now being cared for at a private cattery.
"He has not been micro-chipped so we do not know who owns him and we urge anyone who might know to give us a call on 0300 123 8018. He certainly looks as if he has been well looked after."
