Injuries and suspensions have forced Tommy Warrilow to draft in two loan players from a Football League club.
The Tonbridge boss was reluctant to reveal too many details about the pair but was "hopeful" they would sign at training Thursday, ahead of the Blue Square Bet South home game against fifth-placed Basingstoke on Saturday.
Last weekend’s day off was a blessing in disguise with five players struggling with injuries and another three suspended.
Jon Heath (groin), Ade Olerunda (knee), Robbie Kember (Achilles/calf), Scott Kinch (flu) and Danny Walder (back) were the casualties.
Kember and Kinch are expected to return, while Anthony Storey, Lee Browning and Tim Olerunda serve their one-match bans this weekend.
Warrilow (pictured) said: "I don’t what to say much about it after what happened with Rob Gilman, who signed only to change his mind. One is a midfield player, and the other is a striker and both are at the same club.
"I have been working on it for the last week or so, knowing we would be down to the bare bones. I was in for another player from a Conference Premier club but that won’t happen."
