Tommy Warrilow believes his squad’s own self belief is a major reason why Tonbridge have climbed into Ryman League, Premier Division play-off places.

Monday’s trip to Wealdstone was called off, scuppering their chances of a fifth successive win, after going fifth with a 3-1 win against Billericay last week.

Lee Browning’s double started and finished the scoring after an excellent solo effort by Lewis Taylor against the Essex side.

Warrilow said: "The players are believing in themselves more, because I have never doubted their ability.

"We are right in the mix but are taking nothing for granted.

"There are other teams in the pack around us who are doing well. Harrow won 7-1 at Horsham this week and two other teams, Hendon and Lowestoft, have got games in hand as well."

Scott Gooding had a scan on his injured knee on Tuesday and Warrilow hoped to hear the results at training last night (Thursday).

Defender Gooding injured the same knee that put him out for eight months before his comeback earlier this season.

Warrilow said: "Scott was hopefully bringing the scan with him, so our physio Melvyn Slight could have a look at it, see the medical report and take things from there.

"The worst possible scenario for us is that he is out for the season but I don’t think it will be like that "

Flu victim Ben Judge is Warrilow’s only other doubt but hopes to recovered
from flu before the trip to Tooting on Saturday.
