Tommy Warrilow is looking for his Tonbridge side to start as they finished at Chelmsford in the FA Cup when the teams meet for the second time in less than a fortnight.
Tonbridge begin their campaign when they make a swift return to Melbourne Park in the second qualifying round on Saturday, just 12 days after travelling home from Essex with a vital Blue Square Bet South point, having been 2-0 down after 11 minutes.
Boss Warrilow (pictured) said: “We should have won the game the other night and I want us to pick up where we left off.
“We put their noses out of joint a little bit then and I am sure they will want to prove a few people wrong. They have their changed their formation since and I will talk to a couple of people about them and plan accordingly. It is still a difficult tie.”
Prize money of £4,500 is available to the winners and Warrilow stressed the value of what a good run in the competition means.
He added: “We are no different to any other club, and need the money. It can be a lifeline for us and a quick-fix to bring in revenue quickly, rather than through gates or other areas.”
Warrilow admits Tonbridge have been punished for making mistakes so far this season and it was a similar story in the 3-1 defeat at Dartford last Saturday.
He said: “The first one came after we were caught playing in the wrong areas and they got their second after we had strong appeals for a penalty turned down at the other end.” Robbie Kember (heel) and Scott Kinch (foot) are doubts against Chelmsford and Warrilow is waiting for the results of a scan on Jon Main’s knee problem.
