Tonbridge Angels' Blue Square Bet South play-off chances suffered a blow with a 3-2 home defeat by Farnborough on Saturday.
Angels started well and went close through Mark Lovell but fell behind on 19 minutes when Reece Connolly finished Nic Ciardini’s backheel.
The pair combined again as Connolly doubled the visitors’ lead after 32 minutes.
Frannie Collin replied four minutes later with a fine free-kick from just outside the box but Dave Tarpey restored Boro’s two-goal cushion 11 minutes into the second half.
Mark Lovell gave Tonbridge hope by cutting the gap on 72 minutes but they couldn’t level and are nine points adrift of the play-offs in ninth place.
