A difficult week for Tonbridge Angels ended in a 4-3 home defeat by Bath City on Saturday.
But there was at last good news on the morning of the game when the club revealed striker Mikel Suarez had regained consciousness in hospital following his clash of heads with team-mate Lee Browning last week.
Two goals in the last two minutes from Gary Elphick and Olly Schulz, pictured, set up a grandstand finish as Angels battled back from 4-1 down but time ran out on their bid to snatch an unlikely point, with Tommy Warrilow’s side slipping to 18th in Blue Square Bet South.
Sean Canham tucked home the rebound after Lee Worgan had saved his penalty to give Bath an 11th-minute lead, then Chris Allen made it two shortly before half-time.
An Allen penalty moved Bath clear after the break and while Frannie Collin’s header on 63 minutes reduced the deficit, Canham’s second eight minutes later left Angels with too much to do.
