Frannie Collin returned from injury with a bang, scoring twice to help Tonbridge Angels to a 3-2 win over Staines Town in Blue Square Bet South at Longmead on Saturday.
Victory meant it was back-to-back wins for Angels for the first time this season but they had to come from behind after the visitors snatched a fifth-minute lead through Scott Taylor when Michael Boateng failed to clear a cross from Mark Nwokeji.
However Angels equalised with their first shot on goal, Scott Kinch heading superbly past Shaun Allaway from Jake Beecroft's fine cross. And the game turned on its head less than 60 seconds later when the ball broke to Collin 20 yards out and he stroked home his 14th goal of the season past the stranded Allaway.
Kayne McClaggon rattled the post soon after, with Collin firing the rebound wide, while at the other end Nwokejo fired wide of Lee Worgan's goal on the break.
Angels continued to press with Lee Browning and Collin both going close before the break, but after the interval Staines were a different side and they drew level on 55 minutes when Andre Scarlett found Taylor who controlled well and rifled past Worgan to make it 2-2.
Angels took a while to respond but 11 minutes from time Beecroft's corner was missed by Allaway and Collin was on hand to convert from close range for his 15th goal of the campaign.
There was still time for Scarlett to see red after collecting two cautions, the second for dissent, and Collin to be denied a hat-trick by Allaway's diving save. The win took Angels into the top 10 and four points off a play-off place ahead of Tuesday's trip to high-flying Sutton United.
