Two late goals from Scott Kinch and Michael Boateng snatched a dramatic 3-2 win for Tonbridge in a lively Blue Square Bet South encounter with Thurrock on Saturday.
Tommy Warilow's side looked set for a second defeat in a row after twice falling behind at Longmead and seeing a Danny Walder (pictured) penalty hit the bar while trailing 2-1.
Ben Bowditch opened the scoring for the visitors on seven minutes when Tonbridge keeper Lee Worgan presented him with an easy tap-in. Worgan spilled a shot from Glenn Poole into Bowditch's path, who gladly accepted the gift.
Danny Walder (pictured) equalised from the penalty spot on 20 minutes after Bowditch was penalised for handball.
Thurrock reclaimed the lead after the break on 55 minutes as Poole got on the end of a speculative pass from Bowditch to finish unmarked at the far post.
Angels looked like being handed a lifeline when they were awarded a penalty on 77 minutes after Kayne McLaggon was brought down by Thurrock's Alex Lacey. Walder stepped up to take the penalty, but saw his shot hit the bar and bounce out.
But Scott Kinch made amends soon after with a fine solo effort to make it 2-2 with five minutes to go. His fine turn and shot on the edge of the area was more than enough to beat Thurrock keeper David Hughes into the far corner.
Boateng then sealed a dramatic comeback with a minute remaining, taking advantage from a rare Glenn Poole mistake. The Thurrock midfielder slipped and presented the right-back with a chance to fire a shot in off the post to make it 3-2.
