Tonbridge Angels boss Tommy Warrilow refuses to take struggling Croydon lightly

Chasing down Ryman League Premier Division leaders Sutton is a realistic target, according to Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow.

The Angels moved into second spot after their 1-0 win against Aveley last Saturday, followed by Tuesday’s 3-2 victory over Concord at Longmead.

Former Dover striker Frannie Collin scored the only goal, which proved enough to see off Aveley. But Tuesday’s game proved a more difficult prospect, as Tonbridge were forced to overturn a 2-1 deficit, with Lee Browning netting the winner 12 minutes from time.

With two games in hand and Angels only eight points adrift of Sutton, Warrilow, pictured, says catching the leaders is the objective after cementing a spot in the play-off places.

He said: "Trying to catch Sutton is the target now. I don’t see
why we can’t go all the way and do it.

Angels aim to step up their title push when Warrilow’s side travel to the division’s basement side Croydon Athletic on Saturday

Warrilow added: "Croydon have been losing games but only by the odd goal. It is rare in this league that teams turn up for these kind of games and roll sides over.

"We won’t underestimate them and if it is one thing I have drilled into the side, it is that we must fight and scrap for points.

"We can’t just turn up and expect to win."
