Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow says he is delighted defender Scott Gooding and midfielder Lewis Taylor had their first run-outs of the season in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Kent League Lordswood on Wednesday.

The pair, who have been sidelined with long-term cruciate knee ligament injuries, played for 60 minutes in the 5-0 win at Longmead.

Warrilow, pictured, said: "I’m delighted to see both of them on their way back. I spoke to them on Thursday morning and neither suffered a reaction.

"I never wanted to rush them back too early but hopefully they could be available in about two weeks."

Tonbridge have a free day on Saturday, with scheduled opponents Hendon involved in the FA Cup. They face Margate at Longmead on Tuesday.

Saturday’s 2-0 FA Trophy win over Ryman League Division 1 North side Enfield Town capped a great month for Warrilow’s side, with seven wins and a draw. Defenders Sonny Miles and Danny Walder were the scorers.

Tonbridge now visit Welling in the third qualifying round on Saturday, November 13 - a repeat of last year’s tie at the same stage of the competition which they lost 3-2.
