Tonbridge Angels manager Tommy Warrilow frustrated with side's Jekyll and Hyde start to Blue Square Bet South season

Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow says his side are making him ‘pull his hair out’ in frustration over their yo-yo start to the season.

The Angels veered from the impressive to the ridiculous again last weekend, achieving a deserved goalless draw at Dover on Saturday before crashing to a 6-3 defeat at home to Woking 48 hours later.

Warrilow, pictured, admitted: "I’m pulling my hair out at the moment because we keep making stupid errors that are costing us games and it’s very frustrating."

The Angels have conceded 13 goals in six matches, the joint second-worst defensive record in Blue Square Bet South, but they are also the joint second-highest scorers.

Warrilow added: "I knew at the start of the season that we would be strong going forward. What I didn’t expect was that we would keep making so many schoolboy errors at the back.

"If it continues then I will have to bring in some fresh faces, and I have already got my eye on a lad who knows his way around the Conference scene and who is a good talker.

"But the situation’s not as bad as it was (at this stage) last season. We were all over the place then, and I also think people are forgetting that we have had a tough opening six games."

On Saturday Angels host Farnborough - a team who have scored just six goals in their opening six games - and the following weekend they visit bottom-of-the-table Thurrock, who have found the net just three times so far.
