Tommy Warrilow says the cold snap has left him feeling more like an athletics coach than a football manager.

The Tonbridge Angels boss, pictured, has seen his side reduced to running drills during training after the big freeze left his side without a game for three weeks and hampered their opportunities to train.

Warrilow – whose side could return to action against Canvey Island on Saturday if the Longmead pitch is fit to play – said: "I said to the players, I feel like I’m coaching Tonbridge Harriers rather than Tonbridge Angels because all we’ve been doing is running."

Tuesday night’s game against Concord Rangers was called off just an hour before kick-off due to a frozen pitch.

Warrilow said: "Both sides were desperate to play but we had to come to terms with the fact that the conditions just weren’t right.

"I am so bored. We all are. We are desperate to get back to action but the forecast this weekend isn’t looking promising."

In their absence from Ryman League Premier Division action Angels have slipped to 12th but remain just five points outside the play-off places with a game in hand over several sides above them.
