Tonbridge boss Tommy Warrilow believes many twists and turns lie ahead in the Ryman League, Premier Division promotion race.

Leaders Sutton, beaten 1-0 at Hendon on Wednesday night, visit Longmead on Saturday, 11 points ahead of Warrilow’s side, who have three games in hand.

He said: "The history of this league suggests a lot can still happen in the final two months. We still have 45 points to play for ourselves and you can’t rule out lots of clubs coming up behind, like Hendon.

"Sutton could have been coming to us 14 clear and matches against them are always fantastic."

Tonbridge’s home game against Canvey Island was called off just 45 minutes before the start on Tuesday night. Heavy rain during the late afternoon and early evening caused the problems and Warrilow said: "It was the right decision because you couldn’t play on the pitch. It was frustrating for everyone, including the fans that it was called off so late."

The game has now been re-arranged for Tuesday, March 1.

Sam Jones has returned after a spell in America, and striker Adrian Stone has joined from Maidstone.
