The release of tickets for the Olympic torch relay event at Leeds Castle was delayed for two days so that a first-come, first-served scrum could be avoided.
They had been due to be released on Mondaywith 80% of tickets for the evening celebrations when the torch arrives in the town on Thursday, July 19, going to people living in the Maidstone borough.
People have until Friday, June 8, to apply and then there will be a ballot.
The event includes the cauldron lighting ceremony and a 20-minute set by nu school rappers Rizzle Kicks, and will run from 5pm to 7.30pm.
A play commissioned by Maidstone council and Kent County Council, The River Runs Through, will be performed by local children and adults.
The proceedings at the castle will also be screened live in Mote Park, where there will also be music from Shaun Williamson, Alvin Stardust and the finals of Maidstone’s Got Talent. It will finish with a firework display at 10.30pm.
