These well-padded chaps could be top dog at their town's Bonfire Night celebrations tonight (Thursday) – if they're chosen to take pride of place on top of the bonfire.
They were among the entries in the Guy competition at the Cranbrook Town Bonfire, which will be held at Cranbrook Primary School tonight (Thursday, November 5).
The Guys include a life sized farrier, complete with anvil, from C & B Farriers in Glassenbury Road, Cranbrook; a supporter of the Alzheimer’s Society, complete with a society t-shirt, and a hat-wearing man in a striped top from the Key Stage 1 children at the primary school in Carriers Road.
The public can vote for their favourite Guy by dropping their pennies in to buckets in front of them. The one with the heaviest bucket will be placed at the top of the bonfire at around 6pm. The event, which is being supported by the Kent Messenger, has been organised by Cranbrook Primary School’s PTFA and has been reignited this year after a 15-year absence.
Gates open at 5pm. Entry costs £5 for adults, £3 for children, while under 5s go free.
