Drivers were warned of rush-hour delays in Maidstone this morning, after a lorry broke down.

It happened in the gyratory system, blocking one lane towards Bishops Way.

Roadworks are currently being done on the bridge, but works are not due to start until 9.30am.

They are now in the second phase, meaning there will be a permanent lane closure of 100 metres after Stacey’s Street roundabout.

The lorry was moved by 9.30am.
