One lane of A229 Upper Stone Street, Maidstone, blocked near Brunswick Street

One lane of a busy two-lane road in Maidstone was blocked this morning.

The blockage was on the A229 Upper Stone Street, close to the junction with Brunswick Street.

Kent County Council's Highways department warned drivers to expect delays.

The council reported that the road had reopened by 9.35am and queues are now clearing.
