Arrest after car overturns in Lower Stone Street, Maidstone

A man has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after a car flipped on a busy road.

Two cars were involved in the crash in Upper Stone Street in Maidstone at around 1.10pm today (August 29).

Police and paramedics were called and the road was closed while they dealt with the scene. It has since reopened.

Mark, who was working in Dave’s Tattoo Art shop at the time, said a man waited in the shop before being taken to hospital in Pembury.

He said: “I don’t know how it happened but he sat in the shop recovering.

“I’m not sure if it was shock or something but he didn’t want to talk.”

A man in his 50s was arrested in connection with suspected drug driving offences.

He has since been bailed to return to the police station on November 29.
