A woman, believed to be pregnant, has been stabbed twice in an attack at a block of flats.
Pictures of police cars and ambulances were shared on social media outside Star House in Pudding Lane, Maidstone last night.
Speculation suggested a pregnant woman had been stabbed three times.
Witnesses said armed police in seven patrol cars were at the scene and a police helicopter was hovering overhead.
One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, told KentOnline: "It was my neighbour and I saw. I'm still in shock. I've got my own baby so it is shocking. We're all safe. The police were still here at around 11pm."
Police spokesman Martin Very confirmed the force was called at 6.50pm following a report of a disturbance.
He added: "Officers attended the scene where a woman had suffered injuries consistent with two stab wounds. She was taken to a London hospital for medical attention where she remains in a stable condition."
Two women, aged 28 and 42, and a 33-year-old man, all from Maidstone, were arrested on suspicion of assault and taken into custody where they remain.
The victim remains in hospital. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening or life-changing.
It has not been confirmed if she is pregnant but various witnesses reported this.
