Two cars have collided on the A249 Bearsted Road, Maidstone, causing tailbacks this evening.

The crash happened at 5.10pm leaving the road partially blocked.

Witnesses have reported traffic heading out of Maidstone, towards junction 7 of the M20, is at a standstill.

Police officers are still at the scene of the accident, close to Newnham Court Shopping Village, although a spokesman said they did not believe anyone had been injured.
