A crash on the A20 caused traffic problems this morning.

A car veered off the carriageway and struck a telephone pole at the New Cut Road junction of Ashford Road in Maidstone.

Police confirmed they were called to the scene at 7.30am.

The road was partially blocked in both directions and traffic was moving slowly.

The vehicle was later recovered and and no injuries were reported.

Kent County Council Highways confirmed the road is now clear.
