Traffic was stopped on the M20 following a crash involving a car and a lorry.

The motorway was temporarily shut coast-bound between Junction 7 for Detling and Junction 8 for Leeds while police and paramedics attended.

The car is understood to have overturned.

It happened at around 3.40pm, causing long delays.

Highways officials confirmed traffic returned to normal at about 5.15pm.
