Police are searching for three suspects who disappeared after a three-vehicle collision, which brought traffic to a standstill on the M20.

The police helicopter was enlisted to help hunt the men who reportedly fled after the suspected hit-and-run.

The collision happened on the London-bound carriageway at 3.45pm and traffic was held while emergency services dealt with the situation.

Highways England said the multi-vehicle crash happened between junction 2 for Wrotham and Sevenoaks and 1 for Swanley.

They warned drivers to expect queues. The road had fully reopened and delays had cleared by 6.30pm.

A police spokesman said: "The occupants of one of the vehicles are reported to have left the scene and inquiries are ongoing to locate them."
