Southeastern trains back running after signalling staff member taken ill

Rail services are back running between Paddock Wood and Maidstone West following an earlier issue with staff shortages.

Trains had been cancelled on the route after a signalling worker fell ill.

Passengers were forced to use replacement buses, but Southeastern said services resumed shortly after 9am.

The rail operator says most other trains are running as normal today, except for engineering works affecting services between Margate and Minster.

Replacement buses have also been put on for passengers using this route.
