A group of travellers ejected from Maidstone Leisure Centre’s car park have pitched up again on another car park, just four minutes away.

The caravans arrived in the Sittingbourne Road car park - also owned by Maidstone council - yesterday afternoon.

A council spokesman said: “We are preparing to serve them with another Section 77 order, which will then give them 24 hours to quit the site.”

The new location is close to the entrance to East Borough School and some parents have been said to have been disturbed by their presence, but the head teacher was unwilling to comment this morning.
