Travellers set up camp at Maidstone rugby and cricket pitch.

Five caravans have moved on to the site, at The Mote off Willow Way.

The land is private, and the owner was informed. It is not known if any enforcement action was taken, but they had moved on by Friday.

The rugby season has finished but Mote Cricket Club is due to play their next match on Saturday.

The rugby club has played there for more than half a century but they are set to move ground in the next few years.
