Rail bosses have today condemned a graffiti tribute to Only Fools and Horses star Roger Lloyd-Pack.

A mural honouring the late actor's role as Trigger in the BBC sitcom has been spotted on a train at Tonbridge station this morning.

The character's name has been daubed on the carriage by a fan along with the TV show's logo - adapted to read Rest in Peace.

But Southern Railway condemned the graffiti as criminal damage and said it has drafted in police.

Stella Morris, Southern's head of revenue protection and security said: "Whilst the sentiment may be welcomed by some, this is criminal damage which is being investigated by British Transport Police."

Mr Lloyd-Pack had pancreatic cancer and died at home in London aged 69 last Wednesday.

He also starred as Owen in The Vicar of Dibley and was in one of the Harry Potter films.

Co-star Sir David Jason has paid tribute to him, describing him as a "fine actor capable of many roles".

Mr Lloyd-Pack also supported the Save Dreamland campaign after filming a famous episode of Only Fools and Horses in Margate.
