Tonbridge Angels' quest for a fourth straight Blue Square Bet South win was foiled as they went down at Truro City.
Robbie Kember fired over a cross from Frannie Collin over the bar in the opening minutes as Angels began brightly and Truro keeper Tim Sandecombe saved from Kayne McLaggon who was released by a long ball from Ben Judge.
Sonny Miles' well-time tackle denied Les Afful in the box but after Stewart Yetton had hit the post from 18 yards, the Truro man got his revenge with the opening goal on 20 minutes, firing low past Lee Worgan after Miles had headed away a cross.
The two sides exchanged chances with Kember failing to convert another Collin cross and a Jake Beecroft corner being cleared off the line by Afful while Worgan denied Jake Ash and Yetton before clearing straight to Afful whose goalbound shot was headed off the line by Judge with the keeper beaten.
Andrew Watkins hit the post as Truro finished the first half on top.
After the break chances were few and far between though Scott Kinch nearly turned Collin's cross past Sandecombe and Worgan denied Afful before Watkins dragged wide at the other end.
McLaggon and Yetton fired wide at either end before Sandecombe denied Anthony Storey a volleyed equaliser with Angels pressing in the final 15 minutes.
Miles sent two headers straight at Sandecombe in stoppage-time and the Truro keeper also denied Ade Olorunda before handing outside his area, with free-kick specialist Collin seeing his shot charged down and Miles' follow-up being held by Sandecombe.
However, the hosts went down the other end and cruelly made the points safe in the dying seconds when subsitute Ben Palmer slotted past Worgan with Angels players camped upfield seeking a leveller.
Tommy Warrilow's (pictured) side slipped dow to ninth, four points off a play-off place.
