A man from Tunbridge Wells who was arrested on suspicion of murdering a businessman from Sussex, has been released on bail.
The 22-year old was arrested last Thursday on suspicion of killing Julian Gardner at his home in Robertsbridge on October 11.
The man who has not been named, was interviewed by detectives from the county’s major crime branch department.
He is the seventh person to be arrested in relation to the murder, but has now been bailed pending further enquiries until, January next year.
The body of Mr Gardner, 53, was found at Bush Barn Farm, off the A21 north of Robertsbridge.
Detectives investigating his death believe this was a burglary that went wrong.
Mr Gardner, it is believed, disturbed an unknown number of people in the early hours of the morning forcing outbuildings where he ran an agricultural and car repair business.
Five other people who have been arrested on suspicion of murder have been released on bail until January next year.
Three are from the Ashford area, one is from North Wales and another is from Sandhurst, Kent.
A 30-year-old woman, also from Ashford who was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been bailed until December 6.
DCI Adam Hibbert, who is leading the investigation, said: “The latest arrest is part of a complex and ongoing investigation and I cannot discount further arrests being made in the future.
“I would appeal to anyone who has information in relation to the death of Julian Gardner to come forward.
