Two men have been charged after a group attacked two police officers.
The incident happened in Medway Street car park in Maidstone at around 11.40pm on Saturday, November 6, as the constables were patrolling the area.
They stopped to speak to two men and a woman and were then allegedly assaulted by the trio, as well as another man who arrived on the scene later.
Both officers were injured, with one suffering facial bruising and the second receiving a cut to an arm and tear to his ear which required hospital treatment.
Just two days after the incident Kalvin Stemp and Daniel Colegate, both 24, were arrested in East Malling.
Yesterday, Stemp, of Howley Way, Maidstone, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to resist arrest, escaping lawful custody and assault causing actual bodily harm.
While Colegate, of Addison Close, East Malling, was charged with two counts of assaulting occasioning actual bodily harm.
Both appeared before Medway Magistrates' Court on Tuesday and were remanded to appear at Maidstone Crown Court at a date to be confirmed.
A 49-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman, both from Maidstone, and a 48-year-old man from East Malling were also arrested in connection with the incident.
The 49-year-old remains in custody while the other two have been released pending further investigation.
