Fire crews spent two hours putting out a fire in the roof of two semi-detached houses.

Crews from Charing and Maidstone were called to the fire in Robins Close, Lenham,at midday on Friday, when smoke was seen coming from the roof space of the two properties.

Crews wearing breathing apparatus and using a hose reel extinguished the blaze before cutting away part of the roof to ventilate the area.
