Two injured drivers were trapped in their cars after an accident in Forstal Road, Aylesford.

Firefighters were called to the scene at about 2pm today, and, after stabilising the Rover Mini Cooper and Alpha Romeo, took the cars' roofs off with hydraulic cutting equipment.

The trapped casualties were removed, put on spinal boards and taken to Maidstone Hospital.

Forstal Road was closed, causing congestion on surrounding roads.
