Two more arrested by police investigating Andre Bent murder

Two more people have been arrested as part of the investigation into the murder of Andre Bent.

Detectives issued an image earlier this week of a person they wanted to trace following the fatal stabbing in Maidstone.

The stabbing happened in the early hours of Sunday August 25 - but police now say they are "no longer appealing for information regarding his identity."

Andre, 21, from Lambeth, south London, died following a disturbance in the High Street, shortly after a performance by London rapper MoStack, real name Montell Daley, at the Gallery nightclub.

Four men were subsequently charged with violent disorder in connection with the incident, and a fifth man was arrested and bailed on suspicion of possessing an offensive weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Yesterday police arrested two more - a 46-year-old woman and an 18-year-old man, both from London - on suspicion of assisting an offender.

They remain in police custody.

DCI Patrick Milford of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, who is leading the investigation thanked all those who have contacted police with information.

He added: "The investigation into Andre’s death is ongoing and we still want to hear from anyone who may information from last weekend’s events who has yet to contact the police."

Anyone with information is urged to call the dedicated appeal line on 01622 654 864 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
