A man and a woman have been arrested after a man was found dead.

Police and paramedics were called to Middlesex Road, Shepway - an area of Maidstone - at 7.30am.

The pair are currently in custody.

The death is being treated as unexplained while inquiries take place to establish the circumstances.

Officers remained at the scene for several hours.

Kent Police said: "Police along with the ambulance service were called to a property in Middlesex Road, Maidstone at 7.30am on Saturday 11 March where they found a deceased man.

"Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident and are currently in custody.

"The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances."
