A three-car accident has caused tailbacks in Barming

Two accidents have caused delays for drivers in the Maidstone area this afternoon.

The first happened at 12.10pm on the Quarry Wood Industrial Estate in Aylesford when a man, thought to be in his 70s or 80s, was hit by a car. He was taken to Medway Maritime Hospital with injuries which were not thought to be serious.

The second involved three vehicles and happened on the Tonbridge Road in Barming, at the junction with Glebe Lane, at around 1.30pm. Two ambulance crews were called to treat five patients.

Two casualties, including a woman, were placed on spinal boards and taken to hospital in Tunbridge Wells.
