Firefighters have put out a straw fire weighing up to 50-tonnes.
Crews were called out to Mote Park in Maidstone just after 7pm on Monday, where they discovered the straw and wood chippings alight.
After battling the flames for more than an hour, the fire was out by 8.30pm.
Kent Fire and Rescue stated the the straw weighed up to 50 tonne, however Maidstone Borough Council estimates the figure is lower.
A spokeswoman from MBC said: "There was a fire in the green waste compound in Mote Park on Monday evening, where around 25 tons of park green waste was being stored. This green waste rots down to become mulch and is recycled back onto shrub and flowerbeds.
"Kent Fire and Rescue Service attended and quickly dealt with the fire. The Mote Park manager was informed and a council officer also attended the scene."
No people were hurt during the blaze and the cause remains unknown.
Two fire engines were called out to the park along with a bulk water carrier.
