Versatile Dan Stubbs is set to solve Maidstone’s problems in midfield.
United will be missing suspended trio Tim Olorunda, Danny Lye and Michael Phillips when they take on Kent rivals Faversham at the Gallagher Stadium on Saturday.
Stubbs (pictured) has been deputising at right-back since rejoining his hometown club from Margate last month but he’s set to be pushed into midfield and could be partnered by Jon Harley as Maidstone look to stay top of Ryman League, Division 1 South.
Manager Saunders said: "It’s not ideal having three centre-midfielders suspended. At this stage of the season you want your full squad to pick from but we’ll deal with it.
"Stubbsy’s been helping out at full-back but midfield is his natural position. He can come in there and I know he’ll give us plenty of energy."
Faversham boss Ray Turner says the pressure is on Maidstone but his side need points as they look to secure a play-off place.
Saunders said: "The majority of managers say we’re under pressure.
"It’s the same every home game because we’re at our new stadium and we’re Maidstone United.
"Teams have closed the gap on Faversham and they could miss out on the play-offs, so there’s pressure on them too."
