Firefighters were called to a van which was ablaze in Maidstone town centre this morning.

The fire started in the engine of a red Robin Reliant on the corner of Priory Road and Knightrider Street.

One fire engine attended, and the blaze was quickly put out.

It happened just before 10.20am this morning.

The drama drew a crowd of onlookers but no roads were closed.
