A man has been flown to hospital with head injuries after a crash near a school today.

Firefighters used hydraulic cutting equipment to save the man trapped in a van following a two-vehicle smash in Hildenborough this morning.

Ambulance crews were called to the crash scene in Tonbridge Road, at the Noble Tree Road junction, at about 11.50am.

The van driver was airlifted to King's College Hospital in London with head injuries around an hour later.

A woman in the other vehicle was taken to The Tunbridge Wells Hospital, at Pembury, by land ambulance with injuries to her hand.

Police closed Tonbridge Road, near Sackville School, in both directions.
